Experience
Brian Peterson has a strong track record as a media coach and product developer. He specializes in generating ideas, setting up strategy for product development, and managing the editorial process.
Brian has been in the media and publishing business since age 16 when he became a radio and on-air personality in his home state of Wisconsin. Before completing college, he helped to build ratings and news bureaus for three radio stations located in Wisconsin, Arkansas and South Carolina. After graduation Brian turned his focus to print media as an editor for the Orlando-based Charisma magazine. In 1989 he became the chief editor for the trade magazine Christian Retailing, gaining years of knowledge of publishing, business strategy, management and issues of concern to retailers.
In 1994, Brian became the founding editor for New Man magazine, which quickly grew to become one of the largest and most profitable Christian magazines in the nation with a monthly circulation of 260,000. Recognizing the need for another Christian trade journal, in 1998 Brian helped to launch Inspirational Giftware.
Over the past few years, Brian has gained experience in e-commerce business as well. He started (and later sold) GreaterMen.com (1997) and in late 1999 he helped launch iBelieve.com where he served as editorial director and played a key role in building online memberships to 550,000 and visitor counts to 2 million a month, making iBelieve.com the largest Christian Internet destination in June 2000 (according to PC Data).
Since 1999 Brian has been working as a media and publishing
specialist with several organizations including World Vision, Billy Grahams
Decision magazine and Outreach Publications. He has also been working as acquisitions
editor for Baker/Revell books, helping authors to set a publishing strategy
and develop their books.
